Yes! If you are certified with another agency (e.g., SSI, NAUI, BSAC), you simply need to complete a PADI course (https://www.oceanturtlediving.com/padi-courses)at the next level. This ensures your skills meet PADI standards and you receive a globally recognized PADI certification. For example if you are a BSAC Ocean Diver you can complete the PADI Advanced course (https://www.oceanturtlediving.com/padi-advanced-open-water-diver)to earn a PADI Certification you don't have to start at Open Water Diver.
PADI is the world’s largest and most recognized scuba training organization, making its certifications widely accepted worldwide. Choosing PADI gives you:
• Global recognition: PADI certifications are recognized at dive centres around the world.
• Standardized training: High-quality, consistent course materials and teaching methods.
• Wide course options: A broad range of specialties, advanced courses, and professional pathways.
• Extensive dive network: Access to thousands of dive centres and instructors internationally.
While SSI is reputable, PADI’s global reach, reputation, and support network often make it the preferred choice for divers who want flexibility, recognition, and career opportunities.
Yes. Before starting any PADI course, you need to complete a medical statement (the PADI Medical Form). If you answer “Yes” to any medical questions, a doctor’s approval may be required to ensure your safety during dives. Both sessions cover the same material and fit within the same overall course timeframe. The difference is in scheduling:
• London session: compacted into one day, ideal for those who want an intensive, option.
• Hampshire session: spread over two days, offering a more relaxed pace while covering the same content.
Each participant needs their own email address because PADI eLearning accounts are personal to each diver. This keeps training progress, course materials, and certification records separate and accurate, and ensures each person can access their own course independently.
