Ocean Turtle Hatchlings

Kids Club

Here at Ocean Turtle Diving we really value our little hatchlings – you are the future and we want the future to be all about diving! So, if you are aged 8 to 14 there is a truly exciting underwater world just waiting for you to explore.

"We are proud to have been awarded PADI Approved Youth Training Centre Status. This means we have proven that we have the facilities, expertise, and a multitude of child-sized kit required to offer a truly first-class service to our mini VIPs."

Kerrie Eade

Owner, Ocean Turtle Diving

We run all sorts of exciting experiences and courses just for you, from Bubblemaker (try dives) through Seal Team, to Junior Open Water, Junior Advanced and Junior Rescue – so you can keep up with your parents and show them how it should really be done!

During the school holidays we often lay on special programs of activity for our Hatchlings. In 2015 we launched our Dive Camp – a five day long, daytime course where we teach PADI Junior Open Water and PADI Open Water courses to groups of under 18s. It was a rip-roaring success and many of our Hatchlings are now certified divers enjoying the underwater world all over the globe! Allegedly, their parents rather enjoyed the peace and quiet at home between 9am and 5pm too, and it doesn’t cost that much more than childcare!

PADI Courses 8+

The Bubblemaker Course is ideal for the little Hatchlings to have their first diving experience and get comfortable in the water and the PADI Seal Team is designed for young divers who want more adventure.

PADI Courses 10+

From the age of 10, the Hatchlings can partake in some of the courses which fully fledged turtles can attend although be aware that their maximum depth will be restricted to 12m once qualified. Some of the available courses are Discover Scuba Diving, Junior Open Water Diver, Junior Advanced Open Water Diver and Junior Rescue Diver

PADI Courses 15+

Once they are 15, the Hatchlings count as fully fledged Turtles! Any courses that they have already completed can easliy be converted to their adult equivalent and all of the Specialities and further training become available.

Full Range of Equipment

We have a dedicated area within the Store for everything a Hatchling could need. Pop in or give us a call so we can make sure they are fully equiped for the start of their Scuba Adventure.

"Kerrie and her team came to run a Bubblemaker course for my son's birthday. The communication with Kerrie to organise the party was clear and easy. They arrived on time and had all the kit required, all very well organised. During the course Kerrie and her team related well with the children, aged 8 and 9, making the children at ease and confident with what they were doing. The children didn't realise how much they had learnt during the course because of the way Kerrie asked them questions and gave them the information and answers as all part of the fun. All four boys were so excited by what they had done they have not stopped talking about it and can not wait to dive again! Kerrie and her team made their first diving experience the most positive one they could have had."

Hatchling Blogs

My name is Maisie, I am now eleven years old and earlier in the year I passed my Junior PADI open water and dry suit diver qualification in February 2020 when I was ten years old. I saved all my money I got from my family for Christmas to be able to pay for the course. The course was tough and being in February very cold; but the Ocean Turtle Team were incredibly supportive.

I got inspiration for diving when I went to Greece in 2019. I did a pool dive followed by scuba diving in the sea. I started then to realise I loved scuba diving.

I love going scuba diving to see all the sea creatures and I would like to start helping the underwater environment. I am planning to go diving in the Red Sea next year (2021) and to hopefully get my photographer diver course, to examine the different types of sea creatures from Egypt (Marsa Alam) and the UK (Cornwall or Porthkerris). I have done multiple dives in different places, for example: Porthkerris, Vobster, Wraysbury and Greece. I also practice and keep up to date with my diving by practising my skills in the swimming pool.

In the future I hope to become more skilled and one day get my Master Qualification and learn more about the underwater world.
