PADI Divemaster course
Love scuba diving? Want to share it with others on a whole new level? Take the PADI Divemaster course and do what you love to do as a career.
Scuba divers look up to Divemasters because they are leaders who mentor and motivate others. As a Divemaster, you not only get to dive a lot, but also experience the joy of seeing others have as much fun diving as you do.
The PADI Divemaster course is your first level of professional training. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, you’ll fine-tune your dive skills, like perfecting the effortless hover, and refine your rescue skills so you anticipate and easily solve common problems. You’ll gain dive knowledge, management and supervision abilities so you become a role model to divers everywhere.
As a PADI Divemaster, you’ll lead others as you supervise scuba diving activities and assist with diver training. Whether you want to work at a faraway dive destination or close to home at a local dive shop, the adventure of a lifetime awaits you. PADI Divemasters are respected dive professionals who are aligned with the largest and most respected dive organisation in the world – PADI.
Divemasters are now also able to Instruct a range of PADI specialties that we are able to teach you. These include Coral Reef Conservation, Project AWARE Specialist, Digital Underwater Photography, Emergency o2 Provider, EFR and Equipment Specialist.
Unlike many other dive centres, we view our Divemaster Trainees as valuable customers – not dive donkeys to fetch and carry kit. Consequently, we will tailor your Divemaster course around your availability. If you are able to commit time up front, we can complete the course in under two weeks. If you have less free time, then it can extend to a six-month period – but rest assured if it takes longer than a couple of weeks, it will be because that is what you want, not because we are trying to stretch it out and try and get you to work for free!
We also offer several Divemaster Internship options, including our industry-first Business of Diving Internship – where you gain invaluable experience from truly working in the dive industry. You will need to be able to commit 6 months to us for this option and it will involve working some days in the dive centre, learning the true business of diving, assisting with marketing strategy, using and servicing the compressor, assisting with repairs to equipment, and managing the logistics of pool nights, open water sessions and dive trips. By the end of the internship you will be an asset to any dive centre anywhere in the world. We ask for your commitment to all our pool sessions, open water sessions and weekends in the dive centre.
