Emergency First Response, EFR, First Aid

Emergency First Response Instructor

This is an extended 2-day, or 3 evening, programme. As an EFR Instructor you may provide interested individuals with the training necessary to provide EFR Primary Care (CPR), EFR Secondary Care (First Aid) and Care for Children courses (including optional recommended skills, AED and emergency oxygen.) This course builds on your skills as primary and secondary care providers and focuses on developing your instructional abilities. Through independent study, classroom sessions and practice teaching assignments you will learn to organize, conduct, market and promote the EFR programs. The class emphasizes hands-on skill practice and demonstrations and builds self-confidence

Entry Requirements:

To enroll in an EFR Instructor Course, you must

  • have completed the EFR(CPR) course within the past 24 months
  • have completed the EFR(First Aid) course within the past 24 months
  • have completed the EFR Care for Children course within the past 24 months.
Note:

Practicing medical professionals (e.g. paramedics, EMT's, nurses and doctors) are not required to have completed the Emergency Fist Response Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First Aid) and Care for Children courses. Although participating in these provider level courses is beneficial, it isn't required since professional medical training serves as an equivalent.

The EFR Instructor course costs £275 excluding Emergency First Response Corporation registration fee, currently £82.83

Included in the cost are Primary and Secondary Care and Care for Children instructor manuals.

To enrol on this course candidates must be 18 years or older

Care for Children Instructor

This course teaches candidates how to conduct the EFR Care for Children course.

The course takes place at our state of the art dive centre and focuses on teaching CPR, first aid and choking with an introduction to oxygen provision and automated external de-fibrillation for child and infant patients.

As well as developing role model skills the course expands upon candidates teaching abilities and looks at successful promotion and marketing of the courses.

The course is run over one day and costs £150. The Care for Children instructor Manual is included in the course price.

To enrol on this course candidates must be current EFR Instructors and have completed the Care for Children course (we can teach this in conjunction with the instructor course).

Not included is the application fee to Emergency First Response Corporation which is currently £30.55.
