Rescue
Diver
You have just exited the
water following a successful
dive when another diver suddenly
surfaces 50m from shore. He's
obviously in trouble but what's
the right thing to do? Complete
your PADI Rescue Diver course and
you will know how to help. Not
only that but you'll also learn
how to spot the tell tale signs
that can help you prevent
accidents from developing in the
first place and as anyone who's
already completed Rescue Diver
training will tell you, this is
the probably the most
challenging and rewarding course
in the PADI syllabus -- and it's
the most fun too!!
What do I need to start?
-
Have successfully
completed within the last 24
months, courses in
Cardiopulmonary
Resuscitation (CPR-Primary
Care) and Basic First-Aid
(Secondary Care) with an
approved organisation -
Emergency First Response
training from Ocean Turtle is
ideal.
-
Have an Advanced Open
Water Diver or Junior
Advanced Open Water Diver
certification (or qualifying
certification from another
organisation)
-
Be at least 12 years old
What will I do?
You will study the material
in the Rescue Diver manual and
watch the video, answering the
questions in each of the
Knowledge Reviews, at your own
pace. Then you will complete a
classroom based review session,
during which you will prepare an
Emergency Assistance plan for a
local dive site with your
instructor before mastering 10
rescue skills during one
confined water session in the
swimming pool. Then you
will progress to open
water to complete four,
realistic, open water rescue
scenarios where you will get the
chance to be a rescuer, lead a
rescue team and be a team
member, as well as have a lot of
fun!
How long will it take?
The Rescue Diver course can
be completed in as little as two
days and two evenings. Most of the theory is
learnt at your own pace, in your
own time and your mastery of the
knowledge is then assessed in a
classroom session with your
instructor.
How much does it cost?
The PADI Rescue Diver Course costs just £275
which includes Crew Pack, Pool Entrance Fees, Air
and Cylinder Hire, Instruction and PADI
Certification Fees
Dive Site entrance fees and
other equipment hire are NOT
included
