PADI Open Water Diver
course, the most popular dive programme
in the world! This is your ticket to a
lifetime of intense adventure with Ocean
Turtle Diving, Hampshire's leading diver
training organisation.
Why PADI Open Water?
As a certified PADI
Open Water Diver, the most widely
recognised and respected initial diving
qualification, you have the freedom to
dive anywhere in the world with a buddy
who is similarly, or better, qualified.
Ocean Turtle Diving
offers two options - Open Water Diver
certification or a Referral course
where you complete the final four
qualifying dives at a later stage,
typically while you are on holiday.
What do I need to
start?
Virtually anyone who
is in good health, reasonably fit, and
comfortable in the water (able to swim
200 metres non-stop and tread water for
10 minutes) can earn a PADI Open Water
Diver certification.
You must be 15 years or older to begin
the PADI Open Water Diver programme but
for those between 10 and 15 years of
age, the PADI Junior Open Water Diver
certification is available. It provides
the same thorough training but with some
minor diving restrictions.
What will I need?
We supply all
required learning materials as part of
the course! These will include:
- Access to the PADI e-learning
system and on-line version of the
Open Water Diver Manual and your own
personal log book and training
record.
We supply all major items of equipment
for your confined and open water dives
but student divers are expected to own
basic equipment (mask, fins, snorkel and
boots) for hygine reasons.
All student divers
will be provided with a dive computer
for their Open Water dives - after all,
it is how experienced divers have been
managing their diving for years.
What Next?
Once you have
completed your Open Water certification
you can then look at the
PADI Advanced Open
Water course; or why not try a PADI Specialty Diver programe?.

move to your chosen date at a later
stage. There is no extra cost for this
